5 Ingredients You’ll Never Find in Our Soaps (And Why)
Share
Because clean shouldn’t come with a chemical warning label.
There’s a lot of junk floating around in the world of soap. Harsh detergents, weird preservatives, mystery fragrances that smell like unicorn farts and regret. We’ve seen it all. And we want none of it in our bars.
Here are five ingredients we promise will never touch our soap—or your skin.
1. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
What it is: A foaming agent used in everything from soap to engine degreaser.
Why we don’t use it: It strips your skin’s natural oils and can cause irritation. Plus, we’re not trying to wash a car engine—we’re trying to wash you.
2. Synthetic Fragrances
What it is: Lab-made scent cocktails with undisclosed ingredients.
Why we don’t use it: “Fragrance” is a legal loophole for companies to hide dozens of chemicals. We’ll pass, thanks. We stick to essential oils you can actually pronounce.
3. Parabens
What it is: A group of preservatives used to extend shelf life.
Why we don’t use it: Linked to hormone disruption. Hard no. Our soap’s fresh AF and doesn’t need to sit on a shelf for three years to prove it.
4. Artificial Colors
What it is: Dyes made from petroleum (yep, the same stuff in gas).
Why we don’t use it: We’re not interested in making rainbow soap sludge. Our colors come from real ingredients like spirulina, charcoal, oats, and coffee grounds.
5. Phthalates
What it is: Chemicals used to make scents last longer.
Why we don’t use it: Also linked to hormone disruption and reproductive issues. Basically, if it sounds like a villain in a sci-fi movie, it’s not going in our soap.
